<p>
From a recent political turmoil and instability to the assassination of its president, Haiti experienced a 7.2 earthquake on 08/14/2021. Successive Natural disasters hit the beautiful Caribbean Nation. Haiti (Ayiti) is a country that sits on a fault line between 2 tectonic plates, the Caribbean and the North American plates. Each time the tectonic plates decide to move, Haiti suffers. Haitians suffer as in the devastation of barely existing infrastructures, collapsed homes, schools and government buildings.
On January 12, 2010, the earthquake that hit Haiti was a 7.0 on the Richter scale. On 08/14/2021, the 7.2 earthquake hit la Grand’Anse, Jeremie, and Les Cayes. Haitians living in the provinces are self-relient and resilient. When hit by 2016 hurricane Matthew, earthquakes, and tropical storms, Haitian farmers do not have time to rebuild as each natural disaster destroys their crops.
<p>All over Les Cayes and Grand’Anse, roads are splitting. Schools and churches collapsed. In may remote and isolated cities, the few homes and buildings that were not affected cannot provide shelter as more than 500 aftershocks kept Haitians in open air and soccer fields. Then, two days after the quake, tropical storm Grace brought rains and winds to finish the rest of the destruction. Some Haitians preferred to be in the rain than being inside a building that would serve as their graves. Despite the destruction of their home, many survivors decide to stay in place, on their property. They are waiting for aid from the government and friends of Haiti. In the meantime, Haitians from non-affected areas of the country and overseas are participating in relief activities. The Haitian government wants to coordinate the aid to prevent the waste of the first earthquake.
<p>
In Haiti, beauty is dangerous. A beautiful country that sits on two tectonic plates. Each time Haitians hear about an upcoming storm, tears roll down their eyes. If it is an earthquake, they already know about its toll and devastation. Haitians remember the dead of the 1st quake. They will remember the devastation and losses of the 7.2 earthquake too.

<p> <b>Book Review</b>:
<p>"<a href="https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JF3QXWJ">In the Eyes of the Hurricane and Epicenter of the Earthquake</a>" is a new series of books and ebooks about the effects and impacts of climate change specially to coastal cities and communities all over the world. It tells the stories of the survivors such as business owners, single mothers, persons of color, immigrants, families and children who suffer the most. The book tells the stories of survivors who lose loved ones, their business, job, church, and schools. Some of them have to move away from the only home and community they have ever known. Rebuilding will take years and lots of money. When they did not have the right disaster insurance, they may never live in what used to be their paradise. The few survivors who can rebuild will have to build according to the new codes, raise their new homes and business to prevent a future devastation.

<p>Communication assistance for Haitian Migrants, Social Workers, Homeland Security and Local Authorities
<p>Some Haitian migrants left Haiti by walking, catching a tap tab or taxi, and traveling by bus to DR where they caught a flight to Panama. From Panama, they traveled to Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Brasil. Some of them were granted a work permit to work in Brasil. That was when Brasil's economy was great. Brasil did not have the current political upheaval. President Dilma Rousseff and Zika were not making headlines yet. People were talking about getting ready for the 2016 Olympic games. Once the economy started slowing down, Haitian migrants lost their job. They were ready to travel again through Central America and Mexico. This time, they were heading back to Tijuana at the San Ysidro Port of Entry, the largest land border between Mexico, Tijuana and San Diego.
<p>Staff at La Casa de Migrante in Tijuana said they have opened the door and the floor so migrants can have a space to stay and sleep.

It's about the beautiful color of most Haitians as in 'grimo, grimèl and marabou,' the color of the sky and the ocean, the bright colors of Tap Tap, taxis, and buses. It's about the color of Haitian Carnival, rara, popular bands, and Jalouzi neighborhood. Most importantly, it's about the bright colors that Haitians enjoy wearing, the colors of 'pèpè' or used clothes for sale in all Haitian markets. It's also about the colors of the treeless mountains that are being grilled by the Caribbean sun. Trees are like hats that cover the head of the mountain. They are like teeth in the mouth of the country.
<p>"The Colors of Haiti – Koulè Ayiti – Los Colores de Haití" is an ebook that encourages Haitians to plant fruit trees and all the great trees that made the country the pearl of the Antilles.

Kounye a goudougoudou frape Nepal.
<p>Sòlda Endyen ak anpil lòt peyi tankou Etazini, Japon, Chin etsetera ap rive bay koudmen. Yo pote bagay pou ede moun k’ap viv nan lari tèlman yo pè rete anndan ka yo. Manm yon Ekip Alman ki te fè bon travay an Ayiti gentan rive Nepal tou. Yo pral chache sove moun ki kole anba kay ak bildin.
<p>Sòlda Chinwa ki bon pou sove moun ki pran nan traka konsa pran yon vòl pou ale Nepal. Y’ap pote chen ki konn chache moun ki kole anba bildin ki tonbe sou yo. Kathmandu va bezwen anpil èd pou yo rekonstwi tout kay ak bildin ki kraze anba tranblemanntè sa a.
Prèt Bouda yo ap priye pou seyism sa a ka kanpe. Toupatou moun ap boule kò viktim yo selon tradisyon yo. Fanmi yo ap kriye.

<p>Anvan nou kòmanse pale de aksidan sa-a, ann eksplike ki sa yon cha ye. Ayisyen ki pale Fransè ak Kreyòl rele’l yon char. Yon cha pa yon [ ‘chat,’ cat in English]. Yon cha se yon ‘float in English. O non. Yon cha se tankou yon gwo kamyon byen wo ki pote gwo aparèrèy mizikal tankou tout enstriman, opalè ke gwoup mizikal va bezwen pou’l anime oswa pete tenpan moun k’ap koute oswa ekspektatè yo ki kanpe sou tout bò kote’l oubyen sou bò wout la.
<p>
Fantom Barikad Crew pran nan Kouran sou cha-a. Yon kab elektrik touche’l epi elektrokite’l. Men li sove!
<p>
Trajedi sa-a rive aprè cha gwoup Barikad Crew a ki t’ap pote fanatik ak manm group yo te pase anba yon fil elektrik ki te ba anpil. Si ou gade otè cha yo pandan dènye ane yo, se tankou cha yo nan konkou pou wè kilès k’ap pi gwo epi pi wo. Chak ane, ou ka wè, yon seri cha byen wo. Menm lè sa-a tou, deblozay pete. Moun t’ap kouri toupatou sou moun. Fanatik panike.
<p>
Men kisa moun ap di sou yon bon 3 jou kanaval an Ayiti

<p><b>Book Review:</b>
<p>I am only Lassana Bathily! A simple Hyper Cacher Supermarket worker who happened to help and save others! Yes, a Muslim can engage in acts of kindness, compassion, and humanitarian acts. Jews, Muslims, Christians, Catholics or whatever else, we are on the same boat. We have to work together to face the crisis of our time.
In this eBook, I want to thank everybody –from my colleagues who had opened their arms to welcome me, the people of France, both the Jewish and Muslim communities, all the people of faith, my parents in Mali, my religious teachers and school instructors to my supporters on Facebook, Twitter, and the rest of the world- for all their kind messages for what is now known as my 'heroic act of kindness and compassion.'
<p>
I did not know anything else to do other than to give SHELTER in this cold storage or freezer to scared customers running down to the basement where I was working. After hearing the booming noise above and seeing the clients running down, I knew something bad was going to happen. I had to offer SHELTER at my own risk. The content of this eBook tells you a little bit about myself, my humble origins, and my philosophy on mutual aid and love on this earth.

<p>Here is Lassana Bathily's speech during his naturalization:
<p>"MON COEUR A PARLÉ ET M'A FAIT AGIR"
<p>
<p>
<p>

<p>
Chikungunya
Depi ou genyen maladi sa-a, ou p’ap genyen-l ankò. Kidonk ou vin pwoteje. Ou vin iminize kont chikungunya.
<p>
Chikungunya travèse nan lòt peyi Afriken. L’ale an Azi, End, nan lanmè pasifik, Filipin. Epi li travèse nan rejyon Karayib la. Li koumanse atake moun Sen Maten, Lajamayik etsetera. Lè li rive an Ayiti, Chikungunya koumanse sekwe Ayisyen. Chikungunya frape moun k’ap viv nan Florid tou. Anpil moun Filipin vwayaje al nan Karayib. An reyalite, moun pa ka di kijan marengwen ki gen chikungunya fè rive an Ayiti. Pwiske moun vwayaje toupatou, marengwen ki gen Chikungunya ka mòde yo san yo pa konnen. Yo retounen nan peyi yo. Epi yo vin santi doulè ak sentòm maladi a: bouton sou po yo, lafyèv ak pèn nan jwenti. Se tankou yo santi zo yo ap kraze! Yo pa ka fè anyen ditou.
<p>
Yo kriye anpil. Se yon maladi tèrib pou timoun. Men y’ap geri aprè dezoutwa jou nan kabann yo. Paran yo pa ka al travay. Yo pèdi kòb konsa. 1-12-10HaitiQuake-2-27-10ChileQuake-2-22-11CHCHquake-3-10/11-2011Sendai-JapanQuakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07404431827211969231noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-443809402606907208.post-54977145393518768452014-01-04T09:23:00.000-08:002014-01-04T11:55:21.984-08:00Excessive Speed of Porsche GT Carrera Over 100 MPH According to Autopsy Report, Driver and Passenger's Last 30 Minutes Before Crash<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0N8coN-NtmFyC3-Uia0sWAFHl97ZYtiLryE4W5P62zqbMbXJ2xUPNH3aJlp_hpzf9LvFM3_I3K9hzyKqRx7y0EOqykJsBWI_bn81VmKWTW1PTHTmsGlNcUEYB735wm5clMaUrl0qBWCA/s1600/paulwalkerlastpic-porschegt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0N8coN-NtmFyC3-Uia0sWAFHl97ZYtiLryE4W5P62zqbMbXJ2xUPNH3aJlp_hpzf9LvFM3_I3K9hzyKqRx7y0EOqykJsBWI_bn81VmKWTW1PTHTmsGlNcUEYB735wm5clMaUrl0qBWCA/s320/paulwalkerlastpic-porschegt.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE4cxFjlPLZdyMOvC-_lpcAWbukGzWpeQw-oiBsIyGGaQJZidQWeYdIZ1Z1Qn7ddWHDggDw21KKhzVv1NvzjJA5K4qdA4pExx9Obb2koNHM8cBXA_Y5dsYoSx8M8nxr1A1LBG_7nsvE6U/s1600/paulwalkerpic.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgE4cxFjlPLZdyMOvC-_lpcAWbukGzWpeQw-oiBsIyGGaQJZidQWeYdIZ1Z1Qn7ddWHDggDw21KKhzVv1NvzjJA5K4qdA4pExx9Obb2koNHM8cBXA_Y5dsYoSx8M8nxr1A1LBG_7nsvE6U/s320/paulwalkerpic.jpg" /></a></div>
<p>Paul Walker and his Reach out Worldwide teams arrived in Haiti 5 days after the 2010 quake through Dominican Republic. ROWW.org or Reachoutworldwide.wordpress.com is a network of professionals with first responder skill-sets who augment local expertise when natural disasters strike in order to accelerate relief efforts. With the assistance of his best friend, Roger Rodas, a financial planner, Paul founded Reach Out Worldwide after returning from Haiti. Paul Walker and his ROWW members were helping in Oklahoma tornado, Illinois tornadoes, Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, and Tuscaloosa in Alabama.

<p>Here is what others are saying about Paul Walker's Charity and Relief Efforts
<p>“Paul wasn’t someone who would just write a check and lend his name to an organization; he was the heart and soul of REACH OUT Worldwide. Paul was the first one in and the last one out, he led by example and his hard work and dedication inspired everyone who had the privilege of working with him. He led one of the first teams into the hardest hit areas of Haiti and traveled to Chile to bring water, medical aid and hope after the Earthquake and Tsunami.
<p>“He ran a chainsaw clearing debris and helping people get back into their homes during the hottest days after the tornadoes in Alabama… Some people play a hero, Paul was a hero. Paul was an honorable, hardworking, dedicated, respectful man with a humble spirit who shared his blessings with those who needed it most. It was an honor and a privilege to be able to work with, learn and look up to someone who walked the walk”, said JD Dorfman from REACH OUT Worldwide after Walker’s death.1-12-10HaitiQuake-2-27-10ChileQuake-2-22-11CHCHquake-3-10/11-2011Sendai-JapanQuakehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07404431827211969231noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-443809402606907208.post-16875603834304956262013-12-13T08:29:00.002-08:002013-12-13T08:46:18.426-08:00"Paul Walker's Spirit, an Angel Up in Heaven... <p>'Fast and Furious' actor Brian O'Conner known as Paul Walker left his fans with a challenge. He wants us to make a difference in somebody's life. He taught us how to live and reach out to others in need before we die. He had it all. He had cars, fame, charisma, swagger, character, beauty, money, great friends, amazing family members, superb co-stars such as Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle, Jordana and others, but he found much joy in reaching out to others who were afflicted by natural disasters. And his daughter wanted to accompany him on his foreign trips. Five days after a massive quake destroyed Haiti, he and his friends were there to rescue and provide aid. Upon his return to the United States, he founded ROWW.org or Reach out Worldwide Charity. His team of first responders went to many other places such as Chile, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Oklahoma, and the Philippines. <p>R.I.P Madiba (Tata) and Paul Walker!. Christo Brand who was the jailer of Nelson Mandela at Robben Island, remembers his friend. He is mourning his death. He said that Mandela who was older than he was became a father figure for him. Mandela encouraged him to complete his education and always cared about asking for his family's health. Both men lost a son. Mandela did not forget about the jailer who gave him bread and his favorite hair pomade after he was released and became President of South Africa. He kept in touch with him and made sure that he was close to him. Christo Brand took his family and grandchildren to see him in his old days. They told each other stories and relaxed.

<p>Kouman yo prepare pwason – How do they prepare fish</p>
<p>Pou fè manje ak pwason, ou bezwen sizonnen pwason an avèk lay (garlic), pèsi (parsley), zonyon vèt (green onions), sèl (salt), yon ti kiyè lwil oliv (a T spoon of olive oil), mwatye yon tikyè ji sitwon (half a tsp of lime juice), piman pike (hot pepper). Kòmanse manje bannann ak pwason!</p>
<p><b>Gade byen: Pwason pa pwazon (Fish is not poison).</b></p>
<p>Ki jan yo prepare bannann an Ayiti? Fri bannann pou ou ka manje-l avèk pwason (Fry plantain so you can eat it with fish). Ayisyen rele sa bannann ak pwason! (Haitians call that plantain with fish).</p>
<p>Achte yon sak grenn bannann vèt nan mache a (Buy a bag of green plantain at the market)</p>
<p>Retire po bannann yo – Peel the plantains</p>
<p>Koupe bannann yo pa tibout won – Cut the plantains by little round sections. (Note that the smaller the pieces of plantains, the crispier the plantain will get!)</p>
<p>Chofe lwil ou. Kou lwil la byen cho, mete ti bout bannann yo nan chodyè a (Heat up your oil. As soon as the oil is very hot, drop the pieces of plantain into the cooking pan)</p>
<p>Itilize yon pèz bannann pou peze tibout banann yo (Use a pèz bannann (squeezer) to flatten the platains).</p>
<p>Bouyi grenn bannann yo tankou yo bouyi patat (boil the plantain the way they boil potatoes)</p>
